Memorial Picture "...ENDICOTT, AMMI2c Charles Eugene...I am looking for anyone who served with my father, AMMI2c Charles Eugene Endicott, (NAF Recife, Brazil) Hedron FAW-16 from 25 June 1943 - 25 May 1945. My father died in August 1966 at age 45 when I was age 14. I am now 52, living in SC. He did describe to me some of his experiences at the NAF Recife, Brazil. He worked on the instruments in the cockpits of various planes including PBY's. I cannot remember the name of any of the men with whom he served at NAF Recife, Brazil. My mother (age 82) is still living in fair health in Memphis, TN. She can probably recall more incidents that he shared with her. I do have a few photos of my father with some of his buddies on a naval base. Can anyone help me?...Patrick F. Endicott pendicot@bellsouth.net..." [20FEB2005]

ENSTROM, T1(NAC) Robert renstrom@juno.com "...Previously served with VP-6 Blue Sharks - 1/90 to 3/93 and VPU-2 Wizards - 3/93 to 4/96. Presently a part of Executive Transport Department/Detatchment recently relocated to MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii from NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii. Eight days from now on 01 July 99, NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii will close. I feel sad to lose her with all the potential she still has as a VP base. BRAC, just like a woman, is one of those things you can't figure out logically. We are trading a perfectly suitable climate and location for a base that just doesn't measure up to the P-3 community needs. We're giving up 3 runways for one. At least the bounce pattern is more interesting! The only concilations I have are that Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii is located in one of the most scenic parts of the island and that it was once a VP post. Most of the sailors I discuss this with agree, but we will all adopt the Marine attitude to "Adapt and Overcome" and contine to make history in the best way we can. Fair Winds to all!..." [24JUN99]
